Ho lavorato per tre anni con l’International Good Shepherd Foundation Onlus al progetto Networking Our Way Out of Poverty facendo design training e product development con donne in situazione di disagio sociale in Kenya, Filippine e Tailandia. Ho fotografato spesso le loro mani, simbolo della dignità del loro lavoro, della cura, dell’impegno e della volontà di avere una vita migliore. A conclusione del progetto ho voluto trasmettere lo spirito del progetto e l’intensità di questa esperienza, realizzando una mostra fotografica – Milano, 2014, Biblioteca Umanistica di S. Maria Incoronata- e un libro.
I worked for three years with the Good Shepherd International Foundation Onlusto the project Networking Our Way Out of Poverty doing design training and product development with women in situations of social distress in Kenya, the Philippines and Thailand. I often photographed their hands, symbol of the dignity of their work, care, commitment and desire to have a better life. At the end of the project I wanted to convey the spirit of the project and the intensity of the experience, creating a photographic exhibition – Milan, 2014 – and a book.
E’ il progetto fotografico realizzato nel 2011 alla Verrerie de Saint Just a Orleans, in Francia, per Saint Gobain Glass “I colori, scriveva Ettore Sottsass, l’idea del colore scappano sempre da tutte le parti, scappano al rallentatore come le parole, che scappano sempre, come la poesia che non si può mai tenere nelle mani, come i racconti belli…”

Frammenti dell’infinito progetto della natura, le macro foto di cortecce, nodi e radici degli alberi diventano metafora della trasformazione e stratificazione operata dal fluire del tempo per rivelare compiutamente la vera identità e l’essenza di cose e persone. ‘…Come gli alberi – scrive James Hillman- diventiamo più irregolari, più attorcigliati, più intricati, come le rughe sui nostri volti. Diventiamo esemplari unici e strani…’
Fragments of the infinite design of nature, macro photos of bark, knots and roots of the trees become a metaphor of transformation and stratification made by the flow of time to fully reveal the true identity and the essence of things and people. ‘… As the trees – as James Hillman writes- we become more irregular, more twisted, more intricate, like the wrinkles on our faces. We become unique and strange specimens…’

An international project that has Italian roots, born to export the ancient art of Sardinian weaving, updated in the colors and decorative motifs, to the USA. It produces high quality hand-woven rug collections made in Italy, in Sardinia, according to ancient weaving techniques. It offers architects and designers the possibility of creating custom-made wool, cotton, linen and cashmere carpets in exclusive ranges of colors.
